Balance

temperance · the threshold · blending · patience · the middle way

Upright

The work now is in the blending — not too much of this, not too little of that. You are standing on a threshold, and the art is in holding both sides without falling. Patience, steady hands, and trust in the slow work.

Reversed

You have lost your balance, and the mixture is off. Too much of one thing has drowned out the other. Step back, breathe, and find the middle ground again. Manannán walks between sea and land — he does not choose one over the other.

Irish lore

Manannán mac Lir, god of the sea and guardian of the Otherworld, was the great threshold keeper — master of the space between sea and land, life and death, the seen and the unseen. He could raise mists to hide the blessed isles and part them to reveal the way.
