This End User License Agreement ("EULA") is between you ("User") and Siobhan McAuley ("Developer") regarding your use of the mobile application "The Hearth" ("App").
The Developer grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App on Apple devices you own or control, solely for personal, non-commercial purposes.
The App offers a free Wanderer tier and a paid Practitioner tier (monthly or annual auto-renewing subscription). Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
The App presents Irish folk tradition, plant lore, tarot, seasonal practice, and AI-generated reflective conversation for cultural, educational, and entertainment purposes only.
The App is NOT a substitute for professional medical, mental-health, legal, or financial advice. Plant and folk-remedy content is presented as historical and cultural tradition, NOT as treatment, diagnosis, or cure for any condition. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before acting on any information in the App, especially during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or while taking medications.
Conversations with "Brigid" are generated by a third-party AI model (Anthropic Claude). Output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected. The Developer does not guarantee the accuracy, suitability, or completeness of any AI-generated response. You use such content at your own discretion and risk.
If you are experiencing a mental-health crisis, contact emergency services or a crisis helpline immediately. The App displays helpline information as a courtesy but is not a substitute for real-world emergency support.
You must be at least 12 years old to use the App. Users under 18 should have parental or guardian consent.
All content in the App — including text, illustrations, card artwork, audio, and AI-generated responses — is owned by the Developer or licensed to the Developer. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use within the App.
Use of the App is also governed by the Privacy Policy. By using the App you consent to the data practices described there.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Use at your own risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the App. Total liability under this EULA shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim.
The Developer may suspend or terminate your license at any time for breach of these terms. You may stop using the App at any time and cancel any subscription via your Apple ID settings.
This EULA is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising under this EULA shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Suffolk County, Massachusetts.
The Developer may update this EULA from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
