The Hearth (also known as Draíocht) is built and operated by Siobhan McAuley. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We collect only what is needed to run the app well.
Information we collect
Account data. Email address and a display name you provide at sign-up. Authentication is handled by Supabase.
Usage data. Cards drawn, plants viewed, festivals tracked, conversations with Brigid (the AI companion), saved Grimoire entries, lunar and seasonal preferences. Stored in Supabase keyed to your account.
Device data. Standard mobile device identifiers and crash diagnostics provided by Apple and Expo, used to improve stability.
Subscription data. Purchase status is provided by RevenueCat (subscription middleware) and Apple. We never see your full payment details.
Third-party services
Anthropic Claude API. Conversations with Brigid are sent to Anthropic for AI generation. Your message text and recent conversation context are transmitted. Anthropic's privacy policy: anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
Supabase. Hosts your account and saved data. supabase.com/privacy.
Apple. Distributes the app and processes subscription payments. apple.com/legal/privacy.
RevenueCat. Subscription state. revenuecat.com/privacy.
How we use your information
- To run the app — saved readings, Grimoire, conversations, preferences.
- To personalise Brigid's responses with context from your past sessions.
- To process your subscription via Apple In-App Purchase.
- To improve the app and fix bugs.
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not share your data with advertisers.
- We do not use your content to train AI models without consent.
- We do not collect data from anyone we know to be under 13.
Your rights
You can:
- View and edit your display name in Settings.
- Cancel your subscription in Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- Delete your account and all associated data — Settings → Delete Account. This is irreversible and removes all your readings, Grimoire entries, conversations, and profile.
- Email us with any privacy question or request: support@thebrigidhearth.com
Data retention
Data is kept while your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data is removed from our database within 30 days. Apple may retain transactional records as required by law.
Crisis content
The app includes basic crisis-detection that surfaces helpline information. Detection happens entirely on-device and is not transmitted. The displayed helpline numbers are static reference content.
Changes
This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
