the path between · connection · bridging · persistence
Upright
The Causeway is a path between two lands, built by a giant's hands — or by the patient work of molten earth. Either way, it connects what was separate. You are being asked to build a bridge, to find the path between two places, two people, two truths. The work is hard, but the connection is worth it.
Reversed
The bridge you are building may be going to the wrong shore, or you are destroying connections faster than you build them. The Causeway stands because each stone supports the next. If your path is crumbling, check your foundations.
Irish lore
The Giant's Causeway (Clochán an Aifir) in Antrim is a geological marvel of 40,000 basalt columns, said to have been built by Fionn mac Cumhaill as a path to Scotland to fight a Scottish giant. Science says volcanic cooling; tradition says a giant's hands. Both are true in their own way.
