harmony · direct action · authority · decisive wisdom
Upright
The elder of the grove speaks rarely, but when they speak, the trees listen. You are being called to act with authority and decisiveness — not the brash kind, but the kind that comes from years of watching, learning, and waiting. The time for patience is over. Act.
Reversed
Authority without harmony is tyranny, and decisiveness without wisdom is recklessness. You may be acting too hastily, or wielding your experience as a weapon rather than a tool. Lead the grove — do not command it.
Irish lore
Reed (Ngetal) was used for thatching, arrow shafts, and the making of pipes and flutes. It represents direct action combined with harmony — the arrow flies true, the music heals. In Brehon tradition, the elder of a tuath was expected to act swiftly but justly.
