Elder of Winds

ancient wisdom · authority of experience · the old ways · earned respect

Upright

The elder of the winds has flown every storm and survived every winter. This is the authority of experience — not given but earned, not demanded but recognised. You have been through enough to know what you know. Trust it. Speak from your scars, and the young ones will listen.

Reversed

Experience can become rigidity if you are not careful. The elder who cannot learn from the fledgling is not wise — merely old. Are you resting on your experience, or still growing? The wind never stops moving, and neither should you.

Irish lore

In the tale of the Oldest Animals, a succession of ancient creatures — blackbird, stag, eagle, salmon — are consulted for their vast accumulated wisdom. The eldest remembers what all others have forgotten. In Irish culture, the elder was the living library, the keeper of all that time had taught.
