Four of Branches

intuition · dreams · rest · the inner world

Upright

Willow bends but does not break, and right now you are being asked to bend — to soften, to dream, to let intuition lead where logic cannot follow. This is not weakness. The willow survives every storm precisely because it yields.

Reversed

You may be too yielding, bending to every wind until you have lost your shape. Or perhaps you have shut down your dreams entirely, gone rigid where softness is needed. Find the middle way — flexible but rooted.

Irish lore

Willow (Sail) was the tree of the moon and of dreaming in Irish tradition. Willow bark eased pain, and sleeping beneath a willow was said to bring prophetic dreams. The sally rod was used in basket-weaving — flexible, practical, and endlessly adaptable.
