restoration · healing · renewal · slow recovery
Upright
The healing spring does not work all at once — it works sip by sip, day by day. You are being restored, even if it does not feel like it yet. Trust the slow work of the water. What was wounded is being tended; what was dry is being watered. Let yourself be healed.
Reversed
You may be refusing the healing that is offered, or expecting it to come all at once. The spring runs at its own pace. If you keep testing the wound, it cannot close. Step back, drink, and let the water do its quiet work.
Irish lore
Healing springs and holy wells dot the Irish landscape, each associated with a particular saint or cure. The Well of Dian Cécht, physician of the Tuatha Dé Danann, could heal any wound — the injured were bathed in its waters and rose whole. Even today, pilgrims walk the rounds at wells, praying for cures.
