Upright
Glendalough — the valley of the two lakes — is where St. Kevin retreated to find God and found himself instead. You have come to a place of completion and deep peace. The work is done, the walls are built, and the valley holds you gently. Rest here. You have earned this green silence.
Reversed
You are retreating from the world when you should be engaging with it, or you cannot find the peace that the valley offers. Glendalough is a place of healing, but only if you are willing to be still. Stop running. The valley has room for you.
Irish lore
Glendalough (Gleann dá Loch) in Wicklow is a glacial valley with two lakes, where St. Kevin founded a monastery in the 6th century. He lived as a hermit in a cave above the upper lake. The valley became one of Ireland's great centres of learning and prayer — a place where stone, water, and sky conspire toward peace.
