Upright
Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is stop struggling. You are being asked to let go — not of hope, but of control. Hang here for a while and let the world turn upside down. What you see from this angle may change everything.
Reversed
You may be martyring yourself unnecessarily, or refusing to make a sacrifice that is genuinely needed. Not all suffering is sacred, a stór. If hanging here is no longer teaching you anything, it may be time to cut yourself down.
Irish lore
The bog bodies of Iron Age Ireland — preserved figures found in tuath boundaries — are believed to have been ritual sacrifices to ensure sovereignty and the fertility of the land. They gave themselves (or were given) to the earth, and the bog held them for millennia.
