Upright
The earth is generous, and so are you. This is a time of growth, of tending what you have planted. Let yourself be held by the land beneath you — she has carried heavier things than your worries, and she will carry these too.
Reversed
You may be giving until you are empty, or refusing to receive what is offered. A mother who does not rest cannot feed her children. Tend to your own soil before you water everyone else's garden.
Irish lore
Danu is the great mother goddess of the Tuatha Dé Danann — the people of the goddess Danu — who ruled Ireland before retreating into the sídhe mounds. She represents the fertile land itself, and sovereignty in Ireland was always tied to the goddess of the land.
