protection · vision · partnership · watchfulness
Upright
Two rowan branches crossed above a doorway keep harm at bay. You are being called to protect what matters — your people, your vision, your tender new plans. Stand guard, but do not stand alone. Partnership strengthens the watch.
Reversed
You may be so focused on guarding against threats that you have forgotten to look for blessings. Or perhaps the protection you cling to has become a cage. Rowan wards off evil, but it does not ward off life.
Irish lore
Rowan (Luis) was the great protective tree of Ireland. Crossed rowan branches above a byre door kept the fairies from stealing the milk. The berries were said to grant vision and to sustain a person for a full day in the wild.
